Cam's Berfday in Chicago

Cat and Cam had some Rapid Rewards cupons on Southwest that were expiring and decided to blow them on flights out to Chicago! This trip just so happened to coincide with Cam's 24th berfday so it was a perfect timing. Luckily for the Hylands, Cam's buddy Tim-may lives out in Chicago and was happy to host the newlyweds (yes, we haven't been married a year yet so we can still call ourselves that). Tim-Tim and his GF Kellie were great hosts and gave us more than your average "Taste of Chicago". Props to our hosts!

The first night in Chitown involved going out to dinner to eat some of the best BBQ we've ever had. Smokeys has it going on, dawgs! Tim and Kellie were awesome enough to get Cam a velvet cake after the consuming of various meats was completed. Wait a second, that last sentence sounds really, really bad. Oh well, why start editing at this point in my life.

Did we mention that our friends Megs and Krissy live like 5 blocks away from Tim and Kellie? Well, they do and seeing them was totally awesome. On our last day in Chicago, we hung out with the girlies and went to a neighborhood swimming pool. Cam was sad he didn't get any pictures of the hotties in their swim suits to post on the blog.

On Friday we headed to US Cellular Field to watch the epic White Sox vs. Cubs game. After trying to Craigslist tickets we decided to just go to a bar by the stadium in Southside Chicago. And what a classy bar it was. Seriously, the place was filled with nothing but scalpers drinking MGD out of cans. After negotiating with a few of these scuzzy dudes we ended up getting tickets in center field. The game was pretty awesome with the Chicago vs. Chicago matchup. We saw three fights and people so drunk that they fell asleep in their seats. Classic.

The next day we checked out downtown and then took a few trains to get to the Lincoln Park area and hang out by Wrigley Field. The game was obviously across town at the White Sox stadium so we conceded by taking the Cousin Larry & Balki Bartokomous Perfect Strangers picture infront of the sign. I'm guessing the Blue Man group is coming to Wrigley soon? But I could be wrong.

That same day we went up to the top of some super tall building we can't remember the name of. After braving the super sketchy elevator, we made it to the 96th floor to drink some $13 cocktails and snap pictures of the city on Lake Michigan. Can you spot the Oprah Building? Or is it the Harpo Building?

We also went to Second City to see some comedy and drank some terrible midwest beer at a kegger. But we forgot to take pictures of these events. Chitown rules!
