Naptime

Napping is fun. Even when it's light outside a nap can really hit the spot. The swinging and singing motorized lamb chair with plush blanket wrap does the trick for Lucas on this day.

This whole nap theme carries over to when Dad get's home from work. Frankie and Cam follow Luke's lead on the couch.

My Eyes Are Open!

To be truthful, his eyes aren't open all that much. But they are opened more than before which is really fun for Luke's parents.

Lucas is a huge fan of laying in the boppy with a clashing blanket and onesie.

The fashion fopaux continues in a similar picture to the one above.

Lucas really likes to be wrapped up in a towel. Warmth is his second favorite thing (second to feeding, of course).

Things Luke Can Do Now

As Baby Lucas grows older by the day, there are a few new things that he has learned to do. Let's take a look:

Luke loves to hang out in his swaddle blanket.

Relaxing in the swinging and singing lamb chair is a great way to watch the game.

Napping on the couch wrapped up in his animal blanket is probably what he's the best at as a week and a half old boy.

The Uncles Visit

Honorary Uncles Scott and Pablo came over to visit their new buddy Lucas. Pablo was a little more vocal in asking for the photo which is why Scotty didn't make this post. Regardless, Lucas totally dug his new pals.

Wearing the same onesie as the day before, Baby Lucas decided to pose for Mommy as he slept on her lap later in the day. All that playing earlier sure tired him out. On second thought, Lucas slept through his visitors too.

As Lucas contined his nap, Big Brother Frankie kept a watchful eye over his sibling. Cat and Cam felt comfortable enough under Frank's watchful supervision to leave and get a quick sandwich. JUST KIDDING!! That was a joke, people.

The Many Faces of Baby Luke

Baby Luke is only a week old at this point. But if you snap a bunch of pictures within a few seconds you're bound to catch some cute poses.

The "Yawny" Face

The "Watcha Lookin At?" Face

The "Old Man" Face

The "Baby" Face

The "Eat Your Own Hand" Face

A video of Lucas trying his best to eat his own hand.

Our Friends The Kellys

Saturday rolled around and Lucas decided to wear some of his cool new clothes. He demanded to sit in his car seat in order to best show off his fit.

Later that day our friends Brian, Nicole and Baby Brennan Kelly came by to visit and introduce themselves to Luke. Cat and Nicole decided to swap sons. This caused Cat to suddenly think "wow, my son will be this big in just 5 months!" and for Nicole to say "my son used to be this small just five months ago?" It really makes you appreciate what you have right now!

Brennan decided that he was ready to hold his future best buddy Lucas.

Daddy Cam thinks that Luke's bouncy chair is super awesome. But Luke just used this opportunity to show off his super skinny and long foot (for a baby).

Lucas' Introduction to Alta Plaza Park

Cam was on paternity leave, everyone slept decently after short three hour sleeping sessions, the weather was great, it was a Thursday.......so how about we go to the park! Cam was looking very comfortable managing the Snap N' Go stroller during it's first outdoor session.

After a fun time at the park, Mommy Cat retreated to the couch with a few of her boys.

Baby Lucas is in post-feeding bliss relaxing in his boppy as the morning sun streams through the bedroom the window. He then pooped his diaper.

Welcome Home Lucas

Lucas put on his finest going-home-from-the-hospital outfit consisting of a white knit beanie, a long sleeve white duckie shirt, and yellow and white stripped duckie pants. Come to think of it, I'm pretty sure that his diaper had a duckie on it. Thanks to Great Aunt Marcia for the duck attire!

After we finally figured out how to get our small newborn baby in the car seat, Cam was asked to pose with the car seat.........and his son Lucas.

Lucas took his first of likely many pictures infront of the Golden Gate Bridge.

After a very happy introduction, Frankie and Lukie became best friend brothers. And this made their Mommy very, very happy.

Welcome Home Baby Lucas!

Luke's 1st (Day) Birthday

Word quickly got out about Lucas' birth and (honorary) Aunt Teede came by the hospital room to meet the young buck. Cat was recovering really well and was looking way too good to be wearing a hospital gown in this picture. Luke decided to take a nap between the pretty ladies during his 1st Day Birthday photo.

Lucas loves to hug his mommy looking like a little monkey man. And, no, Cat didn't go to a bunch of clubs before delivery to get those awesome wristbands. You're seriously wearing a sleeve of perforated plastic while you're at CPMC. I didn't understand what most of them were for, but that's OK.

Lucas Scott Hyland's Birthday!

After an long 28 hour labor and delivery, Lucas Scott Hyland was welcomed into the world at 7:40 AM on 4/19/10. Lucas was 7.53 pounds and 20.5 inches long. Wooo hooo!!

Everyone looks great in the first family photo (minus Frankie the dog) just minutes after delivery. But couldn't Cam have at least combed his hair? He has a serious case of cot-head.

Good ole' Uncle Matt was the first to make it to the hospital. He was the first family or friend to know that Cat was in labor as we had to call on him to take care of Frankie for a while. Matt rushed over when the "Lucas Scott Hyland is here!" text went out to family. After a brief wait, Matt got to go into the delivery room to hold his nephew.

Auntie Erica came over to the recovery room to hold her precious nephew. She looks like the perfect babysitter.

Grandma Alta also came over with Erica and Grandpa Greg. She couldn't wipe the smile off of her face as she gazed upon her first grandchild.

Later in the birthday Grandma Nancy and Grandpa Jim came by the hospital to meet their first grandson as well. Even though the word on the street is that big Jim only changed one diaper of Catherine's when she was growing up, he looked pretty comfortable holding his grandson Luke. Jim got a kick out of Lucas opening his eyes which is when this photo was snapped.

What a happy day!

A Few Hours Before It All Changed

Hello everyone in blogsophere land. It has been awhile since we had anything cool to post on this here web log but some exciting stuff has recently happened. Did you hear that Cat was pregnant? Well, she was and it was awesome. We had a lot of fun times picking out baby names, going to doctors visits, reading hours of Internet articles about child rearing, and guessing what the gender of the little thing would be. Cat had the most fun with the looks she got at 24 Hour Fitness on the elliptical machine when she was 7 months pregnant.

On April 17th, 2010 Cam's parents Alta and Greg came by the condo to go out to dinner at Jackson Fillmore for one last meal before the due date of 4/26/10. The picture above was taken in front of a great sunset from our deck.

Greg, Cam, Frankie, Cat with Baby, Erica and Alta posed for one last belly shot before we ventured off for one hearty Italian dinner. We completely stuffed ourselves with dishes of salmon, gnocchi, spaghetti carbonara and baked chicken. After dinner we all hung out until the wee hours of the morning with Cam's sister Erica and her friends also coming over. Needless to say, we were exhausted when we finally got to bed. Especially Frankie!

Cat's Belly

Cat was a very pretty pregnant lady. Usually a very modest woman, Cat was always wanting to show off her preggers belly.
