Union Street Fair/Catherine's Birthday Celebration/Welcome Back Kellys/..........

This last Saturday many momentous events converged to produce an Uber Party that had to start at 10:30 am just to properly celebrate everything. First of all, we live two blocks up from Union Street and the Union Street Fair was going on all weekend. B., Cat wanted to celebrate her berfday by having all of her friends over for mimosas and french toast. And III., our great friends Nicole and Brian Kelly just moved back to the Bay Area after living in Cork, Ireland for 3 years. Yeah!

After about an hour of refilling mimosa glasses and eating 11 different types of brunch food, the gathering shifted from coed commingling to girls chatting in the kitchen (above) and guys playing drinking games in the living room (below). Thankfully, our kitchen and living room are only about 6 feet apart.

The crew got mad at Pappin for handing out too many drinks during 3 Man. What a jerk!

After a few hours of making morning party, the crew eventually made it to the overly crowded Union Street Fair. Nothing was interesting enough to report. So Cat and Cam wish you a good day from Cresta Bar on Polk Street.

Our Trip To San Diego

Cat and Cam ventured down south to San Diego over the Memorial Day Weekend to visit their friends Sean and Liz O'Brien. The O'Briens have a fantastic place in La Costa and proved to be lovely hosts. But the star of the O'Brien household is most definitely Lulu The Pug. Here's a shot of Lulu doing some strange puppy dance:

Night one involved a trip to Fidels. All of our San Diego friends love this place and we loved it too. Cam couldn't even put down his fajita long enough to take a picture with Jon Pappin:

Our crew headed to downtown Encinitas after dinner and enjoyed a few beverages. Here's a picture of Cam with pals Jonny P and Seany OB enjoying various forms of lager:

Saturday involved your classic Southern California pool party. You know, sunny weather, a pool, chips, BBQ, games of flip cup. Cat and Leslie Pappin enjoyed the party with their sunny g's on:

As the games of flip cup wore on the noise pollution frustrated the surrounding neighbors. Here's Cam posing with apartment security as the police are apparently being texted:

Sunday involved taking a drive to downtown San Diego to catch the Reds vs. Padres game. Pre game fun included visiting a fascinating Irish Bar. Gametime fun involved sitting in center field and eating ice cream. Here's Liz and Sean OB rooting for the Pads with their Giants hats on:

Goodbye from SD! If you haven't been, we highly recommend it. Maybe next time we'll spend more time at the beach.

Bay to Breakers 2008

After being out of town the last few years, Cat and Cam were really excited to partake once again in The Bay to Breakers. This San Francisco tradition has only gotten more fun over the years as the costumes get better and friends get more fired up to participate. Cam remembers actually running the 12K when he first moved to the city. This is laughable today as mobile discos and beer bongs surrounded our "Olympic Torch Relay" crew in B2B 2008.

Cat was on the Torch Runner team while Cam was apart of the Security Crew. With coffee moustache and ear piece communication in tow, Cam did his best to protect the "Torch".

Here's a picture of our friend Taylor with the "Torch". You first have to remove the "flame" and then it can be used for other purposes. The guys who designed the torch were geniuses.

The view from Hayes Hill is about as classic a people watching spot as there is. Folks camp out there all morning on the grass to get a look at the crazy costumes. If you aren't there when the Kenyans roll through then you're standing the rest of the morning. But if that happens you can probably just join up with the people "racing" and get a few free drinks.

We leave you with a picture of the Security team protecting the torch and mobile disco from some hippy protester. What a thankless job it was.

Enjoy These Sunset Pictures. We Enjoyed Taking Them.

On Wednesday May 14th, 2008 the combination of a rare 85 degree San Francisco heatwave and clouds created an incredible sunset which we had the pleasure of enjoying from our deck.

Sunsets like this are few and far between. So we decided to celebrate with a few Hyland Cocktails (which if you don't know are the perfect combination of lemonade and vodka.........actually, I'm not too sure how anyone would know that).

The great thing about this susnet is that it seemed to change every couple of minutes. Rad? Totally.

Views like this make you wish you didn't have to go to work the next day.

Giants Game with the Champies

Another weekend and another Giants game for Cat and Cam. We were able to score the same awesome 8th row seats across from 3rd base that we had a few weeks back and enjoyed a great game with our friends Jim and Nikki Champie.

Giants Ace Tim Lincecum went 8 innings to beat those dreaded Philadelphia Phillies 8-2. His 97 mph fastball was tough for left handed hitters to get around on and a few foul balls made it in our general direction. Sadly, two games across from 3rd base produced Zero foul ball retrieval opportunities for us this season. Cam is now 0/57 at PacBell-AT&T Park in getting a ball. Time for him to start getting to games 3 hours early for batting practice.

The weather was awesome as Cam yet again forgot to wear sunscreen. This prompted our crew to refresh with Coors Lights at a rapid pace. We also blamed our drinking on how awesome the game was. Both reasons were valid.

On the way back to the car we noticed this sweet pimped out minivan:

Jim and Cam had to pose infront of this orange beast. Cam really enjoyed the rims on this g-ride. He is currently trying to find these things online so that he can slap them on his Audi.

Wine Tasting Birthday Party

The Hylands were lucky enough to celebrate their friend Joy's birthday.........Wine Country style! The limbusine was rented and the crew made the 9:00am departure from SF with bagels for the base and mimosas served by Graham to welcome the morning.

The first winery visited was Pellegrini Family Vineyards in Sonoma. We all made sure to purchase a Pellegrini bottle of wine as we were "hooked up" by knowing a member of the family. Here's Cat and Cam posing with their friend Brad at the tasting of some of the most delicious wine ever known to man (shameless plug).

Mimosas chased with Pinot Noir got everyone comfortable with each other as the limbusine ventured a half mile down the road to Harvest Moon Winery. The Winery had set up a nice outside tasting area hosted by an interesting Harvest Moon employee who had very suggestive nicknames for the wines. Cam remembers liking the "Nooner" the best which we think was a Zinfandel. After our second tasting, the group photo was inevitable.

We then had Jeeves drive us to beautiful downtown Healdsburg for lunch at Bear Republic Brewery. Although Cam didn't particularly enjoy his chicken sandwich describing it as "overly microwaved" to the waiter, the beer was fantastic. Especially after drinking foo-foo wine all day. Needless to say, the limbusine drive home was rather eventful. Here's Cat and Cam playing their favorite game called "Swap your Sunglasses & Take a Picture":

Gary flashed Natasha his best Blue Steel as the party bus rolled on home to the Biggity Bay.
