Easter 2008

Cat & Cam headed over to Catherine's Parents place for a wonderful Easter Celebration. Catherine's Aunt Carol, Uncle Earl, Cousin Kris, and Cousin Eric with his wife Deena and two little girls Abby and Paige battled I580 accidents, speeding tickets, and Giants Spring Training to make it to the Copeland's Peninsula home in the afternoon. After fueling up on the family's famous artichoke dip and the delicious bite sized "Crabbies", the Easter Egg Hunt was ON.

Paige's basket was overflowing with plastic eggs that contain jelly beans and stickers but she's still on the prowl for more.

Cam and older sister Abby are enjoying the toy car prize in the "Big" egg. I didn't know that Dora The Explorer drove such a sweet dune buggy.

Abby tests the waters by putting jelly beans in Cam's hair and seeing if he takes the punishment. This quickly translated into games of child spinning, dog tackling, Cat & Cam tackling, and Pony/Cam rides. Needless to say, Cam woke up sore on Monday morning. Happy Easter!

Kevin Hicks' 27th Berfday

Cam's brother Matt is apart of what best can be described as a beer brewing Co-op named "Presidio Brewing Company". They don't make any money or sell their brews but they do throw one heck of a fiesta. The months were passing since the December Festivus Celebration and the crew decided to use Kevin's Birthday on Saturday as an excuse to rent out the Fort Point Outdoor Auditorium near Crissy Field and throw another bash.

This is a pretty sweet picture. Cameron's brother Matt is playing an intense game of mini table pong as Jeff Brand and his GF are in the background with the GGB in the distance. I love acronyms.

The guerilla marketing of Presidio is witty and weird at the same time. Randy's head (when he had hair) is photoshopped on a buff body and slapped on the back of a matchbook. Sam, any way to get this in a poster size so Cat & Cam can put it on the ceiling above their bed? Thanks.

This is proof that Cat and Cam were at Kevin's B-Day. An excellent picture of the bloggers with Matt's handsome roommate Matty. Matty, now you're famous. So, what's the next excuse for Presidio Brew Co to throw a bash? Pourin' out a little bit of Pale Ale on Memorial Day? Be sure to check out these guys' website in our brand new "Cool" links section.

Warriors Playoff Push

Cam's buddy Eric Balzer scored some sweet tickets to the Warriors vs. Rockets Game on Friday. Balz works very hard for a company and instead of paying him more money, they give him 2 occasional seats to a Golden State Warriors game. Cam has been such a good buddy over the years that he was honored with an invite.

Cam and Balz were sitting behind two kids in Tracy McGrady Rockets jerseys. During the 3rd Quarter, Thunder the Warriors Mascot went behind these particular Rockets fans and sprayed them with silly string. Cam and Balz stood up and started dancing around like idiots laughing and pointing at the silly stringed fans. Their antics made it up on the Jumbo Tron. Nice! Balz then decided to be a genius and took a piece of silly string from the ground, put it in his half drunk beer and asked the security guard if he could get a free beer because Thunder shot his string in his drink. The plan worked with Balz being escorted to the front of the beer line for a free refill.

You see this beer? Eric drank it down half way and then got a free refill. That's at least a $4 value since beers are $8 at Warrior Games.

Even though the Dubs lost the game, it certainly was a "Great Time Out". Cam & Balz were confident that thier cheering and booing of referrees helped the Warriors lose by less than they would of if they weren't there.

St. Paddys Day: We are OLD

Back in the day, The Celebration of St. Patrick involved some serious partying. Green dye in Coors Light, The Great Stout Taste Test (Guinness vs. Beamish vs. Murphys) and maybe even a few Irish Car bombs.

This year's celebration for Cat & Cam started off by visiting three different markets on the way home from work at 8:00pm trying to find Guinness. After some legwork we made it happen only to enjoy the delicious taste of Guinness Draft (out of the bottle).

Do you know that one pint of Guinness is only 90 calories? Do you think that widget-thingie in the bottle does anything but allow Mayflower Market on Fillmore and Jackson to charge $9.99 per sixer?

So no crazy bar hopping this year. A night on the couch with some left over pot roast and a few stouts was all we needed to "celebrate". Although we did make a resolution to make corned beef and cabbage for 3/17/2009. Delish!

Sunday Cocktails

After enduring a clean-a-thon Sunday we decided to venture out to our deck for the sunset. Now in case you haven't heard, we have a pretty good view. We can't tell you how many of this exact same picture we've taken over the last few years since Cam first moved in and made his Dad Greg a landlord, but the view always comes out a little different with each snap.

Feel free to bring some drinks a check out a sunset with The Hylands! (shameless request for friends to bring us booze)

Spring in SF is a bit chilly so Cat went and got Cam's beanie. Don't you just love the "Where's Waldo" stripes? Can you believe that Cam actually wears this thing on the slopes? At least it makes him easier to spot in the crowds at Northstar.

Every deck sitting session must involve a beverage. If it's in the A.M. the mugs of coffee are in full effect. But sunsets usually involve an adult beverage or three. As you can see in the above picture, the Absolut Vodka with Lemonade was the drink of choice. Ummm, refreshing!

Our First Post

We thought it would be a good idea to start the C&C Hyland Family Factory Blog with our favorite pics of ourselves from the 9/8/07 Wedding and Honeymoon. We just celebrated our 6 month anniversary by having a nice Cat-made seasfood dinner and watching an episode of Friday Night Lights with a glass of $8/bottle Syrah. After discussing Lyla Garrity and Jason Street's crumbling engagement, we then said, "hey, it's our 6 month anniversary!"
